New Year’s Eve Fireworks Postponed
Unfortunately The Ridge has had to cancel our New Year’s Eve party and postpone the fireworks display to another date. Please check back here or on our Facebook page for the event to be rescheduled (probably the Family Day weekend).
It was a difficult decision to postpone the event, but the combination of the updated COVID-19 restrictions and the extreme cold of the late December cold weather front threatens the enjoyment of the celebration by as many members of our community as possible. We look forward to hosting a mid-winter event when the weather is warmer and the pandemic numbers are lower and safer. Thank you for understanding!
Our event has always focused on bringing the community together, having fun, family and socializing with neighbours. With the extreme cold many of the outdoor activities could not proceed. The new building could not be utilized to warm up with the COVID restrictions. In addition, the parking on Haddow Drive would be very restricted and the main parking (directed by the city) would be the rec centre making for a very cold bus ride or walk.
In the meantime our skating rinks will be open and operating (as temperatures allow) — please observe any occupancy limits posted for the community hall and change rooms.
