Volunteer Help Needed!

Your help is needed for a successful skating season!

The Ridge Community League is proud of our outdoor rinks and community centre located in Haddow Park. To make this a truly fabulous skating season for all community league residents, we need your help.  We are looking for volunteers who are willing to help clear snow and flood the rinks. (at least twice a month). As well, in order to keep the warm-up room/washrooms open during skating times, we also need volunteers who are willing to supervise the facility during a 2.5-hour shift during evenings and weekends.  If you are able to help out in either of these roles (or both), please contact the volunteer coordinator at volunteer@theridgeonline.ca

Volunteers are the key to a strong community. Thanks for your support!

Outdoor Ice Rinks are Now Open!

Thanks to the colder weather, the main outdoor rink is now open! After snowfalls and heavy skating turnouts, the ice will have to be cleared and flooded, but is otherwise ready for skating. Please observe the regular skating vs. ”sticks & pucks” time slots on the rink schedule.

We thank our ice rink volunteers for their diligent work in getting the outdoor ice rinks ready for skating season! We hope that more volunteers will step forward to help with Winter 2022-23, both with ice clearing and flooding, and monitoring the warmup room. Want to help with clearing and flooding? Contact the volunteer coordinator. Another training session for rink volunteers may be planned for newer volunteers that sign up. More details will be available by email to volunteers.

Skate tags – Please buy a Ridge CL membership to help offset the cost of maintaining the rink.  Skate tags are available with your membership. Lace them into your skate laces to show that you are a community league member.
Not yet Ridge CL member? Please contact our membership director (membership@theridgeonline.ca) or visit the TRAC office at the Rec Centre to purchase your 2022-23 membership.
